This study aimed to examine whether kinematic factors considered important in the javelin throw are also related to performance in the Javelic throw. Thirty-six male athletes were analyzed using their best attempt (51.72 ± 6.80 m). Parameters included release variables and seven motion-related variables: center of mass velocity, horizontal distance between the center of mass and grip, arm angle, pelvic rotation displacement, trunk angle, and knee joint angles. A significant positive correlation was found between throwing distance and horizontal release velocity. Among the motion parameters, only the center of mass velocity at left foot contact (L-on) was significantly correlated with throwing performance. These findings suggest that, in the Javelic throw, the kinematic factors important for javelin throw performance may have limited influence, and that differences in implement characteristics between the turbojav and the javelin may affect the relationship between technique and performance.
